When an EMP hits, passive clamps aren't enough. Our breaker detects the pulse and physically disconnects your solar equipment โ from small 12V systems to commercial 1000V arrays. IP67 weatherproof for outdoor use. 24/7 battery backup means you're always protected.
Clamps voltage spikes. Does NOT disconnect your equipment. Power stays connected during and after the event. Prolonged exposure can still damage electronics.
Passive OnlyAnother passive clamp. MOV + TVS + GDT shunts voltage but never disconnects the circuit. Your gear stays energized and vulnerable.
Passive OnlyDetects EMP and physically disconnects your solar equipment. Relay contacts open, isolating your charge controller and inverter from the source.
Active DisconnectUnlike passive shields that just clamp voltage, we physically disconnect your equipment from the circuit. Your gear stays safe.
SMDKing EMP Sensor V3.0 detects electromagnetic pulses in real-time. Triggers relay disconnect before damage occurs.
18650 LiPo battery charges from your solar panel during the day. Runs 41+ days without sun. Never vulnerable at night.
Dual USB ports for backup charging. USB-C for modern devices, USB-A for legacy. Works with any phone charger or power bank.
Set hold time from 1 second to 8+ minutes. Circuit stays disconnected during the event, then auto-restores when safe.
From small battery systems to commercial solar arrays. Three models cover every DC voltage range.
IP67 waterproof enclosure with gasketed seams. Install anywhere โ rain, snow, dust, or extreme temps (-20ยฐC to +60ยฐC).
Works with solar panels wired in series (higher voltage) or parallel (higher current). Choose the model that matches your system.
TVS diode and ferrite bead protect the backup battery from EMP-induced voltage spikes on wiring.
SMDKing sensor detects electromagnetic pulse from EMP, lightning, or solar flare.
NE555 monostable timer activates for configurable hold time (11 seconds default).
Transistor drives relay coil. NC contacts open, disconnecting load from power source.
Charge controller, inverter, and batteries are now isolated. Auto-restores when timer expires.

Our breaker provides active disconnect protection โ it physically separates your equipment from the circuit when EMP is detected. For full military EMP protection, combine with a Faraday cage and battery backup. The breaker handles the detection and disconnect; the Faraday cage handles the rest.
Yes โ pick the model that matches your array: Basic covers 1-100V DC (parallel strings), Universal up to 500V (series strings), Pro up to 1000V. Just wire it between your panels and your charge controller โ no special parts needed.
Yes, both! The breaker works with solar panels wired in series (higher voltage) or parallel (higher current). Just choose the model that matches your system:
It auto-restores. The NE555 timer holds the relay open for a configurable time (11 seconds default), then automatically reconnects. If EMP persists, the sensor re-triggers the timer. For permanent disconnect, use the manual reset button or wire an external switch.
Yes! A concrete basement provides excellent shielding (20-40dB attenuation). Mount the breaker where solar wiring enters the basement. The antenna should be outside for better detection. The breaker disconnects before energy reaches your charge controller inside.
EMP Shield is a passive clamp โ it shunts voltage spikes but never disconnects your equipment. Our breaker actively detects and disconnects. Passive clamps can be overwhelmed by sustained EMP energy. Active disconnect provides superior protection.
We're targeting Q1 2027 for the first production run of the Basic and Universal models (Pro follows later). This site will be updated as we approach production โ orders are not open yet.
Not yet. UL certification is in our roadmap for the commercial version. The current design is for personal/experimental use. We recommend consulting a qualified electrician for any permanent installation.
We offer a 6-month limited warranty on all parts. This covers defects in materials and workmanship. If your unit fails due to a manufacturing defect, we'll replace it free of charge. Customer pays all shipping costs. Warranty doesn't cover damage from misuse, overvoltage, reverse polarity, water damage, or modifications.
Yes! All models feature an IP67 waterproof aluminum enclosure with gasketed seams. It's rated for outdoor use in rain, snow, dust, and extreme temperatures (-4ยฐF to +140ยฐF). USB ports have waterproof covers, and all wire connections use sealed cable glands. Install it anywhere your solar equipment is located.
Yes! All models include a 18650 LiPo battery backup that charges from your solar panel during the day. The battery powers the EMP sensor 24/7. With 3000mAh capacity, it lasts 41+ days without any sunlight. If solar charging fails, you can charge via USB-A or USB-C from any phone charger or power bank. You're protected day and night.
Yes, grounding is required for EMP protection. The unit has an M6 brass ground stud on the bottom. Connect this to an earth ground rod (minimum 8 ft / 2.4m driven into the earth) using 6 AWG copper wire or larger. All negatives (SOLAR-, LOAD-) are connected internally to this ground stud. During an EMP event, energy is shunted to ground through this connection. Without proper grounding, the EMP protection is significantly reduced.
No. The battery circuit includes a TVS diode and ferrite bead that protect against EMP-induced voltage spikes. If EMP induces voltage on the wiring, the TVS clamps it to safe levels before reaching the battery. Your backup power stays safe.
The EMP Solar Breaker is in development. This site is an informational showcase โ orders are not open yet.
